Pupils around SA to sing for Mandela | IOL.co.za: "The Department of Basic Education and LeadSA have called on schools around South Africa to sing Happy Birthday for Nelson Mandela at 8am on Thursday, Mandela Day, and also to pray for him.Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga said: “The changes we enjoy today are the fruits of the toil of towering icons of the stature of Tata Madiba.
“It can only be a privilege for every learner and every citizen to observe in song and reflect in prayer the 95th birthday of our former president Nelson Mandela.
“This is our way of saying ‘Thank you, Madiba’.”"
