Obama wishes Mandela well | News24: "Johannesburg - US president Barack Obama on Saturday wished former South African president Nelson Mandela well as he lay critically ill in hospital.

"Our thoughts...are with Nelson Mandela and his family, and all of South Africa," Obama said in Pretoria in a televised press briefing.

He said Mandela had been a personal inspiration to him, and it was "great" to see what was happening in South Africa, when so many other regions were divided by conflict and disputes."
